During the construction of various types of buildings one of the main elements are stairs and staircases. Above all, they should be characterized by high performance, as well as create safe and comfortable conditions for movement. Thanks to its unique properties, welded and press-locked grating offers not only reliable flooring for industrial and civil construction, but also an ideal choice for the manufacture of steel stair treads. Today, more and more steel stair treads are used not only in industrial facilities or in crowded places, but also to create a modern, stylish interior in residential premises.
Revolutionary material for staircases
Steel stair treads are made of different metals, have different shapes, several types of coating and a number of fastening methods. Let's find out why steel grating is the best material for this type of staircase and consider the benefits of steel grating and its key features.
High bearing capacity
Stair treads are made using the same technology as the grating - they are able to withstand huge loads without being deformed. Weight is transferred to bearing strips, and due to small cells such a staircase will be strong and durable.
Resistance to various weather conditions and corrosion
ZRN grating staircase is zinc plated at the largest hot-dip galvanizing plant in Ukraine. This ensures that each tread is protected from sudden changes of temperature, precipitation, fire and aggressive chemical elements.
For additional safety the tread has a special perforated angle bar on its front side, which provides safe movement even with a very large angle of inclination. In places with heavy icing or oil leaks the treads are made of "Serrated" grating equipped with S4, S5 and S6 anti-slip teeth. 80% of the stairs surface is perfectly permeable to water, snow and dirt. Also, the structure of the gratings facilitates the localization of fire, makes it possible to conveniently lay electrical wiring or communication systems and gives the staircases a sophisticated appearance.
For convenience and speed of installation side plates with holes are provided in the staircase, due to which the treads are attached to the stringers. 4 М12х35 bolts are used as fasteners.
Types and design of treads
Grating treads is a structure consisting of rectangular grating, two side mounting plates (round or oval holes are used for fastening) and front corner flashing. Bearing strips of the grating are located in one direction parallel to each other. They carry the entire load and also determine the length of the tread.
Welded grating (SP) and press-locked grating (P) are used for the manufacture of stairs of this type. The gratings are produced from high quality European and domestic steel. All treads comply with the European standards DIN 24537 and DIN 24531, and are hot-dip galvanized according to GOST 9.307-89 and ISO 1461: 2009 standards. The galvanized steel staircases are light weight and are characterized by compact dimensions, which create ideal conditions for transportation and mounting. One of the holes in the sidewall has a special oblong shape to compensate for possible deviations in the corresponding holes on the stringers.
Typically galvanized grating staircases are manufactured with standard lengths of 600, 800, 1000, 1200 mm and widths of 240, 270, 305 mm. In addition to standard sizes, the equipment of “ZRN” company allows producing any size of the stairs, based on the wishes of the customers.
